Education reform is a very important issue. However, both parties have demonstrated poor leadership on education policy, which is harming our children and their future. We need ideas - a focus on futurism, personalized learning, and apprenticeship.

Since Chavez took control in Venezuela to the present day with Maduro as president, Venezuela has gone from a country with hope to one heading towards socialist dictatorship. It's time for the nations of the Americas to stop the human rights abuses and criminal conduct of Maduro and his regime.

MEDIA BIAS / FAKE NEWS

So much has been made about media bias and fake news. Unfortunately for the majority of Americans, biased reporting, link-bait headlines, and fake news stories are part of the norm as media outlets increase their competition for advertising revenue and market share.

HEALTH CARE

The health care policy debate in the U.S. has been waging for many years. While there were some benefits to Obamacare / ACA, it is structurally an unsustainable program. However, the GOP has unveiled horrible legislative alternatives and acts as if health care is not a policy priority for their party, or the country.

Solutions To U.S. Healthcare System Require New Ideas

There are many strengths to the U.S. healthcare system. In order to make it better - with lower costs, more options, and improved services, we need to focus on creative ways to use technology, consumer buying habits, localization, and public and private partnerships.

EDUCATION

In order for us to have an education system that meets our needs, we need to make adjustments to our current system, as well as build a new public education system that personalizes education, and focuses on teaching skills.

IMMIGRATION

Immigration policy has been a hot-button issue for the last few decades. While we are a nation of immigrants, we need to have laws, and manage the number of people who enter the U.S. to ensure we can sustain services.

CANNABIS

With several states already implementing medicinal and recreational cannabis laws, it is time for the U.S. government to change its policy regarding cannabis prohibition. We also need tax and banking reform for cannabis businesses.

SCIENCE & TECH

Private companies are pioneering new advances in science and technology. The U.S. government needs to support advances in transportation, space travel, and artificial intelligence, while also providing governing ethical rules and regulations to ensure public safety.

ETHICAL GOVERNMENT

For too long, our government has been dominated by special interest groups and lobbyists. We need real reform for ethics in government, as well as a system that crowdsources ideas from Americans instead of corporations to ensure the people are represented.

BALLOT ACCESS

The two-party system has used its power to entrench itself, and prevent competition in the marketplace of ideas and policy. Instead of better government, we have gridlock and recycled policies. We need to change ballot access laws across the U.S.

HISTORY OF THE REFORM PARTY

What is the Reform Party? What is the party's history?

The Reform Party began out of the 1992 Ross Perot presidential campaign, and later, United We Stand. With a large percentage of Americans agreeing with the principles that came out from the Perot campaign, over 30% of the country was interested in an independent political party being formed.

The Reform Party of the United States of America (RPUSA) was officially founded in 1995.

The Party stands for Americans who are disillusioned with the state of politics in America, and want an end to the corruption and power of special interest groups over Americans as a whole. We represent a centrist, solutions-oriented approach to government - driven by the concepts Perot articulated when he ran for President in 1992: balancing the budget, identifying problems and without ideology using the best methods to fix what is wrong, investing in our future through improvements to our education, healthcare and infrastructure, and adopting a sensible foreign policy and trade policy that places American interests first.

The Reform Party has nominated several notable candidates over the years, such as Ross Perot, Patrick Buchanan, and Ralph Nader. We also have elected candidates to local and state offices, such as when Jesse Ventura was elected Governor of Minnesota in 1998.
